Start with the intended kitchen
A QSR line, hotel kitchen and retail freezer may require different fry cuts and preparation methods. State whether the product will be fried, oven-baked or air-fried, then identify the cut and finish you need. A straight cut, shoestring, crinkle cut and wedge should not be evaluated against the same cooking target.
Request the current approved specification for cut dimensions, length distribution, skin status, color, defects and any coating or seasoning. Check which details are standard for the named product and which need a separate production review.
Test the product in your own service conditions
A useful sample review records preparation time, portion yield, color, texture and how the fries hold during service. Give the supplier your fryer, oven or air-fryer method so sample instructions and the product program match the actual kitchen.
Complete the commercial brief
Specify unit and master-carton weight, buyer-brand requirements if any, expected volume, destination port and delivery window. Ask for the producing facility, current certificate scope, storage requirements and shipment documents that apply to this exact item.
MOQ, lead time, Incoterms and prices depend on the selected product and order. Confirm all commercial terms in a written quotation rather than relying on a generic web-page figure.
Use this checklist as a discussion guide. Product availability, technical values, certification scope and destination eligibility are confirmed for each selected item and producing facility.
