Describe the final application
A bakery filling, smoothie, dairy inclusion and retail pouch may need different fruit varieties and sizes. Define whole, halved, sliced or diced format and identify the color, texture, sweetness and defect limits that affect your product.
Use an approved quality specification
For a selected fruit, request the producing facility’s current specification and agree the relevant test methods. Depending on the application, buyers may assess size distribution, soluble solids, damaged pieces, foreign material and microbiological criteria. Confirm the exact tolerances for the actual SKU.
Plan season, pack and shipment
Fruit availability can depend on crop and season. Send your annual forecast, expected release schedule, pack weight and destination. Confirm cold-chain requirements and the certificate or export document scope for the named product and facility.
Use this checklist as a discussion guide. Product availability, technical values, certification scope and destination eligibility are confirmed for each selected item and producing facility.
